Silk Reeling Exercises

The first thing that you will learn at The Highland School of Qigong are a series of exercises, collectively known as Silk Reeling.

Silk Reeling is a fabulous skill to practice and develop. With regular practice you can attain some marvellous skills. It allows you to change direction and energy flow quickly. It also grants you some “iron body” development, which is desired by many martial artists. For health, Silk Reeling offers a vast array of benefits. For one, it continuously massages and stretches the connective tissue, thus helping you literally rebuild and recondition your body from the inside out. People who are serious about cultivating Silk Reeling skills have found chronic pains and injuries to vanish with time. Silk Reeling builds coordination and control into the nervous system. Its winding and unwinding movements are excellent for toning the muscles, tendons and ligaments. If done correctly, the wringing action of Silk Reeling “detoxes” the lymphatic system and unblocks qi obstructions. It is a tremendous physique-improving, youth-preserving and energy-cultivating practice. After one to three months of practicing this correctly, you should notice significant improvements in your health and/or martial skills.
